Kate Young
Founding Partner
Kate Young is a seasoned educator and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over two decades of experience serving students with diverse needs across public schools, clinical settings, and private education. As a Founding Partner of Phoenix Learning Center, Kate leads the development of evidence-based educational programming rooted in compassion, structure, and measurable outcomes.
Kate holds a Master of Education and dual certifications as a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) and COBA (Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst). She brings a unique blend of instructional leadership and behavioral expertise, having served as a Director of Education, Clinical Supervisor, and Intervention Specialist throughout her career. Her professional journey spans roles in public school districts, behavioral health clinics, and consultative services across Northeast Ohio.
At Phoenix Learning Center, Kate drives curriculum design, district partnerships, staff recruitment, and compliance with Ohio Department of Education standards. She has deep experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and overseeing programming aligned with tools such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, PEAK, and AFLS.
Kate is committed to inclusive, student-centered learning environments that foster both academic and social-emotional growth. Her leadership has shaped trauma-informed classrooms, teacher mentorship programs, and systems of reinforcement for students and staff alike.
When not working directly with students or staff, Kate can often be found advocating for families, collaborating with local districts, and designing tailored programming that supports the whole child.
Jason Frindt
Founding Partner
Jason Frindt is a dynamic systems thinker, entrepreneur, and technologist with over 15 years of experience leading educational and business innovation across technology, operations, and strategic development. As a Founding Partner of Phoenix Learning Center, Jason oversees all business operations, IT infrastructure, and financial systems that ensure the school runs efficiently and sustainably.
Prior to co-founding Phoenix, Jason served as Chief Technology Officer for Insight Behavioral Consulting and Insight Academy, where he implemented comprehensive IT systems for K–12 education, psychiatric services, and ABA therapy centers. His leadership enabled 1:1 device implementation, secure cloud infrastructure, payroll systems, and professional development platforms for more than 80 staff.
Jason is also a multi-business owner and community builder. He is a partner in EQ Technologies, The Maker Lab, and Automation Investments, where he brings emerging technologies, smart home automation, and maker education into the hands of learners and professionals alike. His work has been featured in Channel 19 News, Chronicle Telegram, and Morning Journal, including his role in launching the innovative Chromebook Academy, a student-led tech repair initiative in North Ridgeville Schools.
At Phoenix Learning Center, Jason brings this entrepreneurial mindset to education—focusing on scalable systems, transparent operations, and digital-forward solutions that empower staff and students. From building secure IT networks to managing payroll and HR, his behind-the-scenes expertise helps make the mission of Phoenix come alive.
He completed professional coursework in Operations Management and Supervision through the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, gaining foundational expertise in strategic planning, process optimization, and leadership in organizational systems. This training continues to inform his operational leadership at Phoenix.
He also holds certifications as an Apple Certified Support Professional, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and credentials from Lenovo, Pakedge, and Google.
